Adam Harrington was born and raised in the small, rural town of Hannibal, Missouri. His childhood is filled with grand memories playing down by the creek with his best friend Huck and his first love, Becky Thatcher. Whether they were getting into adventures, or just painting fences – wait a second.

That’s Tom Sawyer.

Let’s try this again.

Adam Harrington was born and raised in Wellesley, MA, a suburb of Boston. The youngest of three boys, Adam began his acting career performing in shows in and around Boston and at the Harwich Junior Theatre in Cape Cod, MA. After appearing in a handful of productions in bit parts, Adam, at age 12, landed his first leading role as Tom Canty in The Prince and the Pauper. While he may have already had a bit of the acting bug, this experience made it all but certain that performing was Adam’s life-calling.

Every summer until he was 18, he continued to act in plays at that amazing theatre on the Cape. And, while at Wellesley High School, Adam starred in the school musical each year (he also played hockey, baseball and golf every year – yes, golf). It was this dedication and training which got him accepted into UCLA’s School of Theater, Film, and Television. Recognized as one of the top theater schools in the country, UCLA was the perfect fit for Adam.

There, he received the training and learned the skills that have been the foundation for his growth as an actor and performer. During his undergrad, Adam performed in numerous productions. A few of his favorites were A La Porte, directed by Wendy C. Goldberg, All’s Well That Ends Well, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, and Flora the Red Menace. He received the Carol Burnett Scholarship Award for Excellence in Musical Theater.

Since graduating in 2000, Adam has enjoyed the rollercoaster ride that is the entertainment industry. He has co-starred and appeared as a guest star on several television shows – Heroes, Dirt, Kevin Hill, and Scrubs - to name a few. Adam also had a supporting role in the Warner Bros. release, Torque, in which he was pushed and yelled at by Ice Cube. And, you can catch him as Reporter #2 in the Summer's blockbuster, Iron Man. It may, in fact be his best work (just don't blink, or you may miss him!).

Adam has been doing stand-up comedy all over Los Angeles for 6 years now and is a regular fixture of Whiteboy Comedy. A finalist in the 2003 Boston Comedy Festival, he recorded his first stand up DVD last Fall at Room 5 in Hollywood. You can check out online some sketch comedy work he has done with the sketch groups, The Lost Nomads and The Attack.

Adam has also continued working in the theater, acting in plays all over Los Angeles, with such companies as Sacred Fools Theater and Nest Arts. as well as in New York. The past 2 Summers, he returned to Cape Cod to work at Wellfleet Harbor Actors Theatre (W.H.A.T.), performing in productions of Mojo, What the Butler Saw, and The Pillowman (he received rave reviews for this play, and is particularly proud of the work put in by all who were involved with the production). Adam currently is performing in Club Zig Zag (zigzagmusical.com), an original musical he has been workshopping for the past year.

Adam Harrington, like this website, is a work in progress and looks forward to all of the challenging and exciting work that lay ahead of him.
